    Peach and Almond OJ Recipe

    If you want a smoothie recipe that is rich in protein, better have this one prepared. If preferred, you can use pineapple juice instead of orange juice.

    INGREDIENTS

        * 1 C orange juice
        * 1 C frozen peaches
        * 1 frozen banana, cut into small chunks
        * 2 TBSP toasted slivered almonds

    DIRECTIONS

    • In a blender, pour the juice. Sparingly add the peaches and bananas followed by the almonds. Process until smooth and serve.

    If you need a festive drinnk to serve for the 4th of July gathering, try this delicious smoothie recipe. You can also use pineapple sherbet and juice, if desired.

    INGREDIENTS

        * ½ C orange juice
        * ½ C frozen blueberries
        * ½ C canned peaches, chopped
        * 1 (6 oz) container vanilla yogurt, frozen
        * 1 ice cream scoop orange sherbet
        * 2 TBSP honey
        * 1 C ice, crushed

    DIRECTIONS

    • Place the orange juice into the blender. Add the blueberries, peaches, yogurt and sherbet.
    • Use a rubber spatula to fold in the honey and ice. Cover the blender and process until smooth.

    This frozen and refreshing drink would make a great comfort during those warm summer days. If preferred, you can omit salt and enjoy!

    INGREDIENTS

        * 1 frozen peach
        * 10 frozen blueberries
        * 1 (6 oz) container frozen low fat vanilla yogurt
        * ½ C skim milk
        * ½ TBSP pecans, crushed
        * ½ tsp. salt
        * ¼ tsp. vanilla

    DIRECTIONS

    • Put the peach along with blueberries in the blender.
    • Set at pulse setting after adding in the yogurt. Once combined, add milk, pecans and vanilla.
    • Sprinkle with salt (optional) and process the mixture until smooth.

    Use cinnamon as garnish or add it with the sorbet and peach mixture. Blend them well and sprinkle  a little sugar with cinnamon.

    INGREDIENTS

        * ½ C evaporated milk
        * 1 C peach yogurt
        * ½ C peach sorbet
        * 1 C peaches, frozen and cut into chunks
        * ¼ tsp. cinnamon

    DIRECTIONS

    • Combine yogurt and evaporated milk into the blender. Process until combined enough.
    • Put the sorbet and peaches then process to a smooth and creamy texture.
    • Sprinkle the top with cinnamon and serve.

    For a variety in flavor, use yogurt of your preferred flavor.

    INGREDIENTS

        * ½ of a cantaloupe, peeled, seeded and chunked
        * 1 C fresh raspberries
        * ½ C yogurt
        * 1 ½ TBSP sugar (or sugar substitue)

    DIRECTIONS

    • Put the cantaloupe and raspberries in the blender.
    • Sparingly fold in the yogurt and sprinkle with sugar.
    • Start blending until smooth.

    For a tangier flavor for this recipe, you can omit using sugar or add just a little amount of it at a time until you have achieved your preferred taste for sweetness.

    INGREDIENTS

        * 2 C honeydew melon, cut into pieces
        * 2 kiwi, peeled and cut into pieces
        * 1 green apple, peeled, cored and cut into pieces
        * 1 TBSP lime juice
        * 4 TBSP sugar
        * 1 C ice cubes

    DIRECTIONS

    • Use a blender to combine all the fruits together. Add the lime juice before blending them. Process for about 30 seconds.
    • Sprinkle with sugar and add the ice cubes then blend again until smooth.

        * 1 (20 oz) can crushed pineapple in its own juice, drained
        * 1 (16 oz) can blackberries in lite syrup, drained
        * 1 C ice cubes

    DIRECTIONS

    • Use a blender to combine the yogurt, drained pineapples and blackberries. Place the ice cubes on top before starting to power up the blender and processing the mixture to a smooth texture.

    • Use the blender to combine watermelon chunks, the frozen sherbet and lemon juice. Add the ice cubes on top before setting the cover and blending the mixture to a smooth texture.
